3 Things You Can Do Now To Increase Productivity

'You're so organised!' is what a lot of people say to me when I talk about my job. The truth is I am a human that comes with imperferctions and challenges just like everyone else. I manage myself and my clients by using good systems & software and here I'll share my top 3 tips with you so you can increase your productivity.

1. Using a CRM

If you've got more post it notes and pieces of paper than Hovis has loaves of bread, then you need to think about sticking everything into a 'Customer Relationship Manager'. This works as your central to-do list with all of your client contacts and you can even set up automated reminders and workflows to tell you what to do and when! I personally recommend Capsule CRM for small businesses as it's user friendly, doesn't have too many confusing areas and does what it says on the tin.

2. Get Clear on When Clients Can Contact You

One of the biggest productivity killers is having to stop and answer the phone. If it's a part of your everyday job then switching your phone off just isn't going to happen. I'd suggest being clear with your clients on when they can contact you. For example on your website and contracts, stipulate that you're around during 9-2 (for example) but will be working with customers or working on projects and will not be able to respond straight away and to only call if the matter is urgent. This won't be foolproof but it may filter out some of the less important daily calls.

3. Always Record Time

My whole business works on the basis that I offer time for money packages. I record all time on tracking software to make sure I've given my clients all of their paid time. If you have a business model that isn't time for money you still absolutely should record your time. If you're spending too long on something, the profit margin will be decreasing. There's no greater motivator than time! I personally use Toggl and have done for years. I'll pop links below.

Hopefully that helps for now and if you think you need some more human help, book in for a free 30 minute chat here.
